Welcome to
WT Howard Funerals.....
W T Howard Funerals was established in 1922 by William Thomas Howard. The business began its operations at 5 Flett Street Taree, where it is still operating today. In the early days of funeral directing horse drawn funeral carriages were used. Mr Howard then introduced the first motorized hearse to the district. This was a T Model Ford which he modified himself. W T Howard Funerals serviced a large area spreading from Bulahdelah to Gloucester and Port Macquarie. Ownership of W T Howard Funerals remained in the Howard family right through to December 2002 when another family purchased the business. Terry and Elaine Miller with their daughter Juanita and son-in-law Ben Murnane moved to Taree in 2005, purchased W T Howards and now run the business as a family. Throughout the years the funeral services have changed somewhat, with an increased number of cremation services and the introduction of a much more individualized touches to the funeral services, including colour printing of service sheets, memorial books for mourners to sign at the service, much more modern hearses, mourning cars and more comfortable setting at the graveside with tents chairs, PA equipment, grass matting and a lowering device as opposed to hand lowering straps once used. W T Howard prides itself on providing personalized caring services to the families of the Manning and Great Lakes areas. |
